About

My Story

My interest in hypnotherapy started in 1992, on the day I gave birth to my daughter… on an airport tarmac out of the country, three months before her expected due date. It was the stuff of movies!

I couldn’t use my Lamaze training because I hadn’t had it yet, and an epidural was totally out of the question, so I had to find another way to handle the pain. For some reason, I started focusing on soothing images (visualizing colors, my body floating, etc), guiding myself through those images and away from the pain as my daughter was born.

That experience showed me the power of the mind, and I wanted to hone my apparent innate ability to work with imagery to impact the body.

After that, my life continued to provide me in-depth experience from the “patient” side. I have used these techniques myself for pain management issues; I am a cancer survivor (three cheers for the “survivor” part!), and I have had weight loss struggles. Hypnotherapy and wellness coaching have been absolutely essential in dealing with each of those issues, and in helping me stay in control of my wellness.

I want to help others find that same strength and level of healing, so I provide a combination of hypnosis and wellness coaching. See my Treatments page for more details about each treatment.

My Approach

Research – and my own experience – has shown that patients who are more active in their treatment have better outcomes than those who take a more passive approach.

I’m all about facilitating the process, but you will still need to bring the motivation to make the changes. I provide a calm, safe, learning environment for you, and if you are committed to the process, our work together will provide you with new tools to change your life script.

Every person is different, with different goals, so I won’t try to fit you into a template or generic treatment plan.Together we discover your unique “limiting story” so you can rewrite your story without those limits.
